Course Description
Autism Spectrum Disorder is a common developmental disorder that affects both behavior and communication. The course provided real and practical skills for teachers, parents, family caregivers to employ when working with child with ASD. The course allows the participants to reduce frustration by teaching their child that their words are connected to own purpose.
Course Objectives
Upon completion of this course, the participant will be able to:
Identify types of words: requests (mand), commenting (tact), responses (intraverbal), and repeated words (echoic).that help to expand child verbal language reactions.
Describe an example of how to help the child transform his/her utterances into real words.
Identify why words are used and how they are useful in making requests and relaying ideas.
